Retired NBA basketball player Marquis Daniels says it is empowering to see strong characters represent African culture.

"We team up with the Josh Howard Foundation and we are looking to do this in several different cities," said Daniels, who helped take a large group to a movie screening Friday. "And just give people awareness of you know their history."
